Fabric supplier will hire own sales force

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Fabric supplier Microfibres and international marketing company Glabman-Himes have ended their association after 22 years.

Mike Czarnecki, vice president of sales and marketing for Microfibres, an 80-year-old specialist in flocked upholstery fabrics, said the company will hire its own sales force.

Jack Glabman, CEO of Glabman-Himes, said the separation on April 3 was “amicable” and said his 49-year-old company “decided that the opportunities in a fast-changing world dictated the company remain independent.”

Czarnecki said the long relationship “has been good for both parties; however, due to changing business objectives and changing market conditions, both companies have decided to pursue other opportunities.”

He added, “We will try to make this transition as smooth as possible. Customers should direct all questions to customer service at our mills or warehouses.”
