Mumbai, Sep 7 (IANS) Global participants will display their furniture, home products and kitchen appliances at a trade
fair here next week that will also feature a series of seminars to be addressed by eminent designers.
‘Over 70 international participants are expected to take part in the Index International Trade Fair 2013, including some of the world’s renowned furniture makers and home and kitchen appliance producers from Italy, Germany, Brazil, China, Thailand, Malaysia and the US,’ said Liyakat Ali Khan, managing director of Universal Expositions Ltd.
The firm is organising the trade fair in collaboration with Koelnmesse, a Germany-based global leader in organising trade fairs.
‘The five-day fair, beginning Sep 13, will be held at the sprawling Bombay Exhibition Centre at Goregaon in the northwestern suburbs,’ Khan told reporters here Thursday.
‘The fair will also feature a series of seminars on the emerging trends in furniture and lighting designs that will be addressed by eminent designers and members of the industry,’ he added.
The fair will have six segments focussing on finished furniture, office furniture, modular kitchen, furniture hardware and bath accessories.
‘The fair offers an excellent opportunity of exposure to the markets of South Asian regions. Mumbai being one of the most important trade centres in this region has traditionally been the focal point of business promotion,’ Khan said.
