Going once, going twice…sold.
Hundreds gathered at Peck’s Furniture in Cortland for a going-out-of-business auction where more than 300 items were auctioned off.
Peck’s has been in Cortland since 1888 and announced back in March it was closing due to financial difficulty.
The owner said he is grateful for all the support he has received from the community over the years.
“I’ve had a lot of people come up to me and say ‘This is too bad. They’re going to miss Pecks Furniture, they’re going to miss all my employees and just miss us being here.’ You know what? We’re going to miss them too,” Peck’s owner Bill Tucker said.

Tucker bought the business from the Peck family 30 years ago.
He said most of his employees at Pecks will work for him at his Ithaca furniture store.
