ANGELES CITY—Philippine Exports Region 3 (PhilExport R3) and Marquee Mall opened early this week the Gift of Crafts, a holiday furniture fair showcasing the best and newest products made in Central Luzon.

The fair opened Dec. 1 and ends Dec. 10. It is being held at the Marquee Mall Activity Center. It was organized by Marquee Mall, PhilExport R3 and Hotwire Productions and Events.

PhilExport R3 president Randy Viray said participating exhibitors include Vivere Lifestyles Co. Inc., More Than A Chair Inc., Country Accents, A. Garcia Crafts Inc., South Sea Veneer Corp., Asia Ceramics, Furnitureville Inc., Philiana Designs, Orient Deco Furniture Manufacturing Inc., and Calfurn Manufacturing Phils.

Viray also announced the slated opening of Deco Central, the group’s permanent show room in the Clark Free Port Zone this month.

PhilExport R3 recently signed a memorandum of agreement with Clark Development Corp. for its permanent exhibits.

In a brief talk during the opening of the furniture fair, Viray said the show room will house the products of their member-companies and will cater to both local and foreign buyers, retail or contract.

He also thanked Ayala Land and North Beacon Commercial Corp., builder of Marquee Mall, for their support to the still-recuperating export industry and to the Capampangan entrepreneurs.

“Less than a month in the making, this opportunity of an exhibition came knocking on our doors at the heels of a still recuperating export market. Our eyes are trained on the domestic demand—what with the positive developments going on in our province, the booming building and residential construction,” Viray said.

“It is heartwarming to note that our home-furnishings sector is given due acknowledgement as Pampanga is known to be the home of some of the finest pieces of handcrafted furniture that even the most discerning buyers and shops abroad carry them. And now, we offer them to domestic consumers who equate quality and design with our trusted local furniture makers. And why not, when even the after-sales service is only a phone call away?” Viray said.

Present during the opening were Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Renato Romero, Advocacy for the Development of Central Luzon president Renato Tayag Jr., Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Central Luzon director Blesila Lantayona, Tourism Central Luzon director Ronaldo Tiotuico, Angeles City Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, Dr. Carmelito Tarun of Pampanga Agricultural College, DTI Central Luzon Business Development head Digna Romero, Marquee Mall officers Peacy Atendido, Danielle Guiwan and Trisha Henson, and PhilExport officers.
