September 28, 2013 (ROCKFORD, Ill.) – Rockford residents who lost their furniture during recent flash flooding will have a chance to replace their belongings for free.


The Hallstrom Center is hosting a furniture store, of sorts, for flood victims.

Residents can choose from couches, mattresses and appliances donated by others.

The first-come, first-served giveaway will begin at five-50 tomorrow evening.

Area churches and other organizations have been collecting “gently used” household items for the event, and donations will be taken through tomorrow afternoon.
