Shermag will launch Metropolitan Home line

— Furniture Today,
Collection to debut at October market

SHERBROOKE, Quebec — Shermag has hooked up with a popular shelter magazine for a contemporary line to be called the Metropolitan Home Furniture Collection, to debut in October.

The Canadian manufacturer and importer has agreed with MetropolitanHome and its parent company, Hachette Filipacchi Media US, to develop, market and produce the collection.

Interior designer Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz will be the “design partner” for the first lifestyle statement in the collection, to debut at the fall High Point market. Shermag and Met Home said they will partner with other innovative designers as the collection grows.

“This is an excellent opportunity for Shermag and clearly underlines the respect our collections have earned,” said Jeff Casselman, the company’s president and CEO.

Added Donna Sherman, Metropolitan Home editor-in-chief, “We are pleased to be in partnership with Shermag, for their ability to furnish the whole house, as well as with Benjamin, whose unique vision and enormous talent are well suited to create a fashion-forward furniture collection.”
