Furniture Today,
MORGANTON, N.C. — David Stamey, a former trade representative with the North Carolina Department of
Commerce, has been named a Latin America marketing representative for high-end manufacturer Henredon Furniture.
He replaces Ken MacArtney, who retired at the end of 2013. Stamey begins his new role at the High Point Market, which runs March 26-April 1.
Stamey most recently was a trade representative for the Mexico City office of the N.C. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Division. He helped market North Carolina-based companies wanting to sell products or do business in Mexico.
At Henredon, he reports to David Parker, vice president of international sales. He will market Henredon furniture, including its licensed Ralph Lauren and Barbara Berry branded products in Mexico and other parts of Latin America.Â
“What is so appealing to us is that he has such good strong relationships with many of our retailers in the area and has already worked with them,†Parker said, adding that Stamey’s contacts extend beyond Mexico. “Our dealer base is very enthusiastic about having David in this role.â€
