The Triad Health Project, which provides services to individuals and families impacted by HIV/AIDS, is soliciting donations from the furniture industry for a major fundraiser to be held next spring.
The event will be called “Designers Care” and will be in the form of a tag sale offering new home furnishings merchandise, from rugs and lamps to full-size furniture. Proceeds from the sale will support Triad Health Project services.
Health Project Board Member and Event Chair John Melton said moving firm Two Men and a Truck is providing warehousing and pick-up services for donors. He’s hoping to be able to collect a lot of merchandise from manufacturers with leftover samples after the upcoming High Point Market.
“We want the entire process to be as simple as possible for our donors, and we hope they will view contributing to our fundraiser as a convenience as well as a worthy cause,” Melton said.
Chelsea House, which is based in Gastonia, has made the first contribution of furniture and accessories to the drive. It is worth more than $20,000 at the wholesale level, Melton said, adding that donations of individual items are also welcome.
