Weiman fills sales, operations executive posts

Gary Evans
CHRISTIANBURG, Va. — High-end upholstery producer Weiman Furniture has hired Jim Becker as vice president of sales and Grant Campbell as vice president of operations, both new positions.

Both report to Carl Philips, president of Weiman and its parent company, Interlude.

Becker spent 15 years at John-Richard, a high-end accessory company, most recently as executive vice president of sales and marketing. The company said Becker also has extensive retail merchandising and buying background at department stores and at the Bradburn Gallery in Atlanta, where he was a founding partner.

“Jim is an experienced marketer and leader who will help propel Weiman to the next level as a quality producer of stylish contemporary furniture,” said Philips.

Becker will be involved in design, merchandising and selling as the company expands its product line into occasional furniture, accessories and area rugs, Philips said.

Campbell was formerly a plant manager at upholstery producer Lazar Inds.

“Grant’s ‘customer-centric’ focus to the manufacturing and supply side of the business will be right in step with Weiman’s record of quality and fast turnaround of our custom upholstery,” said Philips.

Weiman also named six sales representatives. They are:

+ David Koff, who will cover Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana.

+ Stephen Frank in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.

+ Jodie Veeder, who will add the Weiman/Preview line to sales responsibilities with Interlude Home in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho.

+ Steven Gordon and Diane Reuschel, adding Weiman to their group of contemporary resources in Florida.

+ Ernie Taylor, who will add sales coverage of Tennessee, West Virginia and western Pennsylvania to his marketing duties at Weiman.
