WHEELING, Ill. — Gary Mierenfeld has joined Wickes Furniture as senior vice president and chief operating officer.


In the new position for the 34-store Top 100 company, Mierenfeld is responsible for management of distribution centers, vendor relations, customer service and logistics.

He has more than 30 years of experience in distribution, logistics, product services, home delivery, procurement, real estate and loss prevention, most recently as senior vice president, retail operations with Circuit City. He also has worked for the Gap and Sears.

“Gary’s previous experience and skill set will be extremely beneficial in supporting our growth initiatives in becoming a $1billion-plus company by fiscal end 2015,” said Wickes President and CEO John Disa.

Wickes had sales last year of an estimated $450 million. The company has stores in greater Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis and Portland, Ore.
