This morning their home was bare, but now a Jackson family
is enjoying a brand new look.  Monday WLBT and Miskelly Furniture kicked off our third annual Christmas Giveaway and the new furnishing went to a very grateful family.
Jessie Anderson walks through her empty home, knowing this is the last time it will ever look like this. Â
“I’m getting a new set of furniture from Miskelly furniture. I was chosen for the Christmas Giveaway,” says Anderson.
She is one of several people selected to receive the gift of furniture. Anderson is legally blind and unable to work. Her 18 year old daughter and 12 year old son look after their mother while also attending school. Her family’s story touched the Miskelly Staff.
“We were able to hear about this situation and just thought this was worthy of definitely responding to it,” says Chip Miskelly.
The response was a truckful of furniture. The moverss set up the new digs while Anderson kicked back and relaxed in a recliner.
“I prop my feet up and go back,” says Anderson.
Now a bed is where an empty floor used to be. And a dining room table where Anderson and her children can enjoy a meal together for the first time in years,
“They’re going to be happy about knowing we are going to have a table to sit at and eat meals and won’t have to have plates on our laps anymore,” says AndersonÂ
Before the Miskelly team leaves, Anderson has one more Christmas wish, a bedroom set for her daughter. Miskelly says a pink bed and dresser will be delivered soon.
Miskelly is delivering new furniture to as many as 20 needy families all over Mississippi. Two families are expecting furniture in Gulfport Thursday.
