Wolf Furniture Makes Charity Donation

BELLWOOD — Each year since 1993, Wolf Furniture has organized a major event to raise funds for local charities.

The result of the Wolf Furniture 14th Annual Vendor Outing is donations in excess of $40,000 to the United Way and other local charities in communities served by Wolf’s.

About 215 people attended this year’s event at Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Somerset. Wolf Furniture alliances come from as far as Texas to be a part of this worthwhile venture.

They include executives from furniture suppliers like Broyhill, La-z-boy and Sealy, as well as supporters from television and radio stations, newspapers, printers, financial institutions, contractors and other associated service providers.

“We greatly appreciate the support from our business partners in this worthwhile event.” President Doug Wolf said.

Attendees enjoy a variety of activities, including a golf tournament, skills contests, bowling, horseback riding, swimming, hiking, fishing, tennis, even rides down the Alpine Slide. Guests are also treated to continental breakfast, lunch and dinner. Jeff Krimsky, a furniture manufacturer’s representative and outing attendee said.

“Of all the golf outings I’ve attended, Wolf’s is by far the most fun, the most organized, held at the best location and is all for a good cause,” Krimsky said.

In addition to fees for attending, vendors graciously donate items, which are raffled off during dinner, through a silent auction. Since the event’s inception, Wolf’s has generated and donated over a half million dollars to charity as a result of this purposeful affair.

Wolf Furniture was founded in Altoona in 1902. Headquarters are in Bellwood with eight store locations: Altoona, State College, Johnstown, Lancaster, Harrisburg and York, and Hagerstown and Frederick, MD. There is also a Wolf Furniture Clearance Outlet store located in Altoona.
