Master Design Furniture will be the new anchor tenant at Merchandise Mart Properties’ Hamilton Market showroom building, according to an announcement.


Master Design has committed to expand and relocate its showroom to 50,000 square feet of Hamilton Market at 101 N. Hamilton in High Point. The company’s showroom had been located at Plaza Suites, also a Merchandise Mart property.

Chester Lee, president of the Ontario-based Master Design, said the new showroom will open in time for the October International Home Furnishings Market. The company also relocated its sales and marketing offices to High Point earlier this month, and recently announced plans to build a new distribution center in High Point.

“The infrastructure of the furniture industry is in High Point — from furniture designers and fabrics to trade publications and logistics partners,” Lee said. “We believe there is no better place to make a strong, long-term commitment to the growth and opportunities of the home furnishings industry than right here in North Carolina.”
