A furniture store manager was robbed at gunpoint when she left the store to make a bank deposit, officials told KPRC Local 2.
Houston police said the robbery happened in the parking lot of the Eurway store on Eldridge Parkway near Westheimer Road at about 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
Officials said the robbers sprayed Mace in the office manager’s face, held a gun to her head, took the money and fled from the scene.
One of the store’s employees witnessed the robbery, police said.
Officials said employees followed the robbers at a safe distance while talking to police.
Police tried to pull the robbers over, but the driver refused to stop, officials said. Police chased the men to an apartment complex on Bissonnet Street near Beltway 8.
Officials said two people were arrested.
Police said the robbers likely had intimate knowledge of the store’s procedures because they hid out of camera range and knew when the manager made deposits.
