MONROE, Mich. — Steven W. Pilgrim has resigned as president of Bauhaus USA to become vice president of case goods sales at Bernhardt Furniture, according to officials at Bauhaus parent La-Z-Boy.
Pilgrim has been president of the Saltillo, Miss.-based upholstery manufacturer since May 2002. Before that, he had worked for sister La-Z-Boy company Sam Moore Chair for about 20 years, starting as a sales representative and eventually becoming vice president of sales in 1996.
In a statement, La-Z-Boy President and CEO Kurt Darrow said, “We wish Steve success as he joins Bernhardt and at the same time completes his desire to relocate his family to North Carolina, which was of paramount importance to him. … We truly appreciate the efforts and leadership he has provided Bauhaus over the past several years.â€
Rodney England, La-Z-Boy’s president of non-branded upholstery, will serve as interim leader of Bauhaus until a replacement is named.
Bernhardt officials confirmed that Pilgrim has joined the company.
