Apparel and bedding  manufacturer Rashti & Rashti has signed a licensing deal with children’s products company Taggies to create


a line of clothing and accessories featuring  Taggies’ patented looped ribbon tags.

The Rashti & Rashti collection will include newborn layette, sleep n’ play,  playwear, gift items and crib blankets. The line is scheduled to hit retail shelves in the spring and will be sold at specialty and department stores. Rashti & Rashti plans to launch the collection at the Children’s Club trade show.

“It is just thrilling to partner with the vast expertise  and outstanding creativity of the Rashti & Rashti team,” said Danielle Ayotte, who co-founded Taggies six years ago with Julie Dix. Ayotte said her company had been receiving requests from parents for a clothing line that  featured the same loops and playful interactivity as the company’s signature blankets, and the new line from Rashti & Rashti fits the bill.

“We  were so inspired by Julie Dix and Danielle Ayotte, the founders of Taggies,” said Charlotte Rashti, president. “They’re genuine innovators, and we are delighted to work closely with them and the Taggies team to develop a cross-merchandised collection that will grow in both product and consumer recognition.”

Rashti and Rashti is one of the newest licensees for the Taggies brand. Others include  International Plaything for toys, Mary Meyer for plush and Scholastic for  books.
