Dick Idol launches Southwestern collections

Montana outdoorsman, artist, and outdoor lifestyle personality Dick Idol is expanding his home furnishings collection with the addition of Canyon Road.

At the upcoming High Point Market, lead licensee Klaussner Furniture and Dick Idol are celebrating the fifth anniversary of their brand partnership with the launch of the southwestern-inspired collection. Santa Fe influences are combined with Indonesian Mahogany to offer unique products that are still broad in appeal.

Klaussner will offer a broad variety of coordinating upholstery, and complementary products will also be available from other Dick Idol licensees including Pacific Coast Lighting (lighting and decorative accessories), StyleCraft Home Collection (wall décor/art), Hellenic Rug Imports (area rugs), Natural Creations (permanent florals), Southern Textiles (bedding ensembles), Carolina Mattress Guild (bedding), Artland (stemware, barware, dinnerware), and Big Sky Carvers (cold cast sculptures). The new lamps are based on architectural details from Santa Fe including carved wood and distressed painted finishes and metal accents. New florals include cactus and aloe plants in Southwestern containers, and rugs include Native American motifs and stripes.

“We worked hard to include authentic southwestern design influences without limiting the collection’s appeal by being too in your face,” said Darren York, Klaussner vice president of case goods merchandising. “We believe that the mahogany wood story is a major selling point, in addition to the great designs.”Â
