HILTON HEAD, S.C. — A newly formed consortium of Polish case goods and upholstery manufacturers will
enter the U.S. residential market next month in a joint venture with Euro Design, a U.S. marketing company owned by two brothers.
Leading the launch of the upscale line is John Sellers, who has been named director of marketing and sales for the residential division of Euro Design. He reports to owners Gregor Belka and Marek Belka.
Euro Design will show at its first U.S. market in High Point in October, in the International Home Furnishings Center, H-535.
The Polish factories in the consortium have from 10 to 125 years of manufacturing experience. The companies had teamed previously in Euro Design’s U.S. contract furnishings division before deciding to expand into residential.
The manufacturing partners include:
*Â Zew Divani, a supplier to the European Union of leather, fabric and microfiber upholstery, for stationary and motion frames.
* Paged Meble, a maker of bedroom, dining room, home office and entertainment products.
* Grupa Nowy Styl, one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of metal, wood and upholstery products including casual dining, office chairs and barstools.
Euro Design and its partners will offer products in either single-line or mixed container loads, or through its warehouse in Bluffton, S.C. Delivery times range from a three-day turnaround on warehouse orders, to less than four weeks on single-line direct containers, to eight weeks on mixed containers.
“There is always a place for quality goods, and for the style that is essential to upscale retailers and their clients,” Sellers said.
Gregor Belka continues to operate Euro Design Galleries, a store he opened here before launching into warehousing. His brother, Marek, was a sales executive for Paged Meble who has relocated here from Poland.
“These companies have the highest customer satisfaction rate in the European Union, and our intention is to create that level of excellence with Euro Design,” Gregor Belka said.
