Four Hands managers honored; San Marcos planning recognized

Two senior managers at the Austin-based furniture company Imports by Four Hands LP received WOW Awards: Emma Roubtsov, national sales manager, and Kathi Cunningham, senior account executive and Atlanta showroom manager.

The awards are sponsored by Women in the Home Industries Today, an organization that supports and develops female professionals in the home furnishings industry.

Roubtsov earned the Future Leader Award “to salute an individual who is under 40 for outstanding achievement and demonstrating potential to become an industry leader.”

Four Hands has experienced significant sales growth under her guidance, including a year-to-date increase of 50 percent, the company said.

Cunningham earned the Mentoring Award.

A third-generation retailer, she made the transition to the wholesale side of the business, building a strong team and a bevy of top accounts, Four Hands said.

San Marcos planning recognized

The City of San Marcos Planning and Zoning Commission and planning staff have received a Certificate of Achievement for Planning Excellence from the Texas chapter of the American Planning Association.

The certificate recognizes the commission’s efforts to maintain planning studies and to attend training.

KUT pledge volunteer lauded

Charlotte Boyle was named the KUT Radio Volunteer of the Year for her contributions to the station for more than 10 years.

Boyle began volunteering for KUT 12 years ago, when she handled the 6 a.m. pledge shift, before heading to work at the University of Texas.

Despite her recent retirement from the university, she still helps listeners become contributors to the station, KUT said. In addition, she coordinates in-kind donations from local restaurants to help feed hundreds of volunteers who help operate the phones during pledge drives.
