Genrich leaves Sandberg

Furniture Today,
LOS ANGELES — Michael Genrich has resigned as vice president of sales for Sandberg Furniture.

He has accepted a similar position at another furniture company, but Sandberg declined to name the company and Genrich was unavailable for comment.

Genrich joined Sandberg a year ago and worked on both the Sandberg and Platinum Collection lines.

“We are sad to see Michael go. He has been a great contributor, and I have really enjoyed working with him,” said John Sandberg, president and CEO. “I am happy for Michael that he will be moving to another great company with a great reputation and the highest integrity. We wish him great success.”

Genrich has worked for APW Trade, Blackhawk Furniture, Coaster, Krause’s Furniture, Boyd Furniture and Soil Shield. He also served part of a term as president of the California Furniture Mfrs. Assn.

Sandberg is conducting a search to fill the sales post.

On a different subject, the company also said that it will not return to the Tupelo Furniture Market in January, but instead will place its emphasis on Las Vegas. Attendance has been off at the past two Tupelo shows, and the West Coast company feels it gets more of a return on investment in Las Vegas, Sandberg said.
