Online retailer auctioning Apprentice beds

Proceeds go to breast cancer research

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Online retailer Clubfurniture.com is conducting online auctions of headboards and beds used in furnishing contestants’ Trump Tower suite on the new season of the television show “The Apprentice.” Proceeds will be donated to charity.

The auctions on Ebay end this Wednesday. Up for sale are 12 Mercer micro-suede twin-size headboards and two complete twin-size Mercer beds. Bidding started at $125 and $150.

Kelly Van Patter, production designer for the show, said she wanted the Apprentice suite “to reflect the (Donald) Trump lifestyle, so we were looking for refined, upscale furnishings from fresh, unique designers.” She found it at Clubfurniture.com.

“We wanted this opportunity to be about more than just our furnishings and accessories, so we auctioned the headboards used on the show with proceeds donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation,” said Darrin M. King, Clubfurniture.com president.
