The former head of Massachusetts-based retailer TJX is taking over at Bob’s Discount Furniture, the chain of furniture stores that is growing in the Northeast.
Bob’s, which is based in Manchester, Connecticut, announced the appointment of Ted English as CEO.
In 22 years at TJX, English helped build the Natick-based company into an off-price retail powerhouse. The company owns retail chains including TJ Maxx, AJ Wright and Marshalls.
Bob’s is a growing chain of furniture stores in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey and
New York.
