Baker exits PeopLoungers

NETTLETON, Miss. — Industry veteran Jerry Baker, a partner in the purchase of motion and recliner specialist

PeopLoungers 10 years ago, said he is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities in the industry.

He was PeopLoungers’ executive vice president, responsible for marketing, merchandising and national accounts. He also developed product, including cut-and-sew upholstery that was produced in China.

Baker was part of the original sales management team when Jimmy Green, now chairman and president, purchased PeopLoungers founder Jim Muffi’s majority stock in 1997.

With more than 35 years in the industry, Baker also has held sales and management positions with Sealy, Stanley, Ashley and Berkline.

PeopLoungers said it has no immediate plans to replace him.
