CARTHAGE, Mo. — Leggett & Platt has named Joseph D.
Harris director of business development for residential furnishings, a new position.
For the past seven years, Harris has worked in the company’s mergers and acquisitions department, most recently as assistant director.
He evaluated more than 150 acquisition deals valued at more than $4.5 billion.
Harris previously had M&A roles at Spring Corp. and Koch Pipeline Co., and also worked as a market analyst for Koch Oil Co.
In his new position, Harris reports to Paul Hauser, a Leggett & Platt senior vice president and president of the company’s residential furnishings division, which includes metal beds.
The company said he will help the division achieve profitable growth through “both internal expansion and external acquisitions.”
