A home, they say, is an empty canvas until design and furniture transforms it into a perfect picture of personal expression. “I am
enthralled by the sensitive impact of colour and intricate design in art, architecture and culture and have tried to convey them as a piece d’art on one canvas. And that is what Master Pieces – Galerie de Designe is all about,” remarks Inseeyah Ezzuddin. Master Pieces, a dream venture of Lamak and Inseeyah Ezzuddin is a hallmark of handcrafted furniture classics and accessories for interiors.
The designer ‘show-house’ set up in the plush locale of South Mumbai-Colaba opened in the verdant neighbourhood of Banjara Hills, on April 23. Step into the interiors galleria and you quickly escape into a realm of French and European luxe. Delicately carved furnishings in Burma Teak, silver leafing on wood and other specialty finishing techniques such as mellow limewash finish, burnished gold and patinated silver, gilding, precious inlay work and leather embroidery, tapestry from Ireland, and other dainties from exotic lands are sure to catch your eye.
One-legged corner tables, charming boudoir dressers, mirrored foyer consoles, curio cabinets, elegant chandeliers and a brush with artwork from Aura Art completes the exquisite palette of wares. Interestingly embellishments such as wild ducks, graceful swans and delicate cats, instead of the everyday elephants and peacocks, accentuate design to newer heights. Even drapes in royal brocades, florals , woven checks, and even classic Indian fabrics are among other furnishings you’re sure to covet.
Since Master Pieces is an advocate of forest preservation, the timber used is recycled Burma Teak collected from old spaces and mansions.
