For 60 years, Von’s Furniture, 308 Edison Street, Brush, has stood the test of time, surviving through the best and worst of times.
Now owned and operated by Stan and Cathy Linker, the couple continue the tradition and reputation once offered by VonRiesen and then his son, John, prior to their purchase of the local business seven years ago.
In celebration of their seventh year in business, the Linkers are conducting a storewide sale that offers 10 to 50 percent off.
According to Stan, this is the second annual event of this type the couple have held in their years of ownership. “Von’s has been the people’s choice from all over the area when they want to change or improve the decor of their homes or businesses for the past 60 years,†Stan commented on the furniture store that also offers custom window coverings designed and created especially for your home, sleep systems offered to provide the best sleep possible, office furniture and accessories including pictures, candles, cards, along with several unusual and unique accessories that will give your home that special touch.
“Living up to this reputation over the years has been a hefty goal,†the Linkers commented, adding, “That’s why when it came time to hand over the reigns, Pete was very careful and selective in who he allowed to carry on.â€
At that time, the business was turned over to VonRiesen’s son, John, who ran the business at the same high standards for several years, before retiring and beginning the search to find the perfect successor to the family business, “something he did not take lightly,†Stan noted.
As the younger VonRiesen knew he would have to look outside of the store for a new owner, is when Stan said, “Cathy’s talent and reputation came to the forefront.†An interior designer most of her adult life, Stan continued that Cathy was known for decorating most of the premier homes and businesses in the area “earning herself the reputation that if you want the best for your home or business decor, call Cathy at Von’s Furniture,†he added. “Cathy has successfully carried on the high standards of customer satisfaction set by Pete and his son John.â€
But carrying on the tradition has not been without tough challenges and adversity, the couple admit. “But you know what they say, out of adversity comes strength and success,†they noted. “Last year we had to make a tough and painful change and true to form, since making that change and the promotion of our son, Trenton to store manager and having him take charge of window treatment measuring and installations, our window business has drastically increased,†the owners stated.
As a true family member of the business, the couple’s son believes, as well as understands, the importance of customer satisfaction. “The team of Cathy and Trenton have raised the standard of customer satisfaction to a higher level and I promise you that if you want the best for your home or business, do not settle for less,†said Stan.
Joining the family team is the couple’s youngest son, 16-year-old Chad who works with his brother on deliveries and moving jobs after school and on weekends. “Between the two of them, there is nothing they can’t move. It makes Cathy and I proud to have our two sons working with us in our store,†Stan commented.
Also lending his help is Andy Mullen who also assists Trenton with his moving business.
“What sets us apart from the normal furniture store is that Cathy and Trenton offer the total package,†Stan continued. “Whether you’re building a new home, remodeling or just want a new and fresh look, come in and visit with Cathy and Trenton and enjoy the red carpet treatment.â€
For those who don’t have the time to visit Von’s Furniture, a phone call is all it takes for the team to make a visit, complete with samples including paint, wall paper, carpeting, light fixtures, fabric for customer made furniture and window coverings to compliment your home.
“Special orders are our speciality, getting that right piece for the right spot in your home,†Stan explained. “Our products are competitively prices at everyday low prices. We don’t have gimmick sales. We want people to be able to buy furniture at reasonable prices when they want it. We don’t want them to have to wait for a sale.â€
Another aspect to the locally-owned store is that free delivery is available throughout Northeastern Colorado.
In addition to quality product and free delivery, Von’s Furniture will also remove your used furniture, and if applicable, will sell it on consignment. “Donations of used furniture to charity organizations are often made as well,†Stan stated.
But the perks of purchasing from Von’s Furniture doesn’t stop there as the hometown business also offers several options for financing, along with a layaway plan.
“It’s been a wonderful seven years working with all of the good people of our area and we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our loyal customers,†the couple remarked.
Store hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. For more information, stop by the store or call 842-2712.
