Replaces Reich in upholstery division

WINNIPEG, Manitoba — John Phillips has joined Palliser Furniture as executive vice president of sales for its upholstery division.

Phillips was executive vice president of sales at Natuzzi Americas before resigning last month.

At Palliser, he is responsible for sales of upholstery products as well as working with the merchandising and product development teams.

Phillips’ relationship with Palliser began when he was the upholstery buyer for Sears Canada for 11 years.

“We welcome the depth of John’s experience,” said Art Defehr, president of Palliser. “He is knowledgeable about all three of our markets: Canada, the United States and Mexico. It is unusual to find someone with that kind of experience.”

Phillips reports to Carsten Diercks, senior vice president for Palliser upholstery.

Phillips replaces Pablo Reich, who has left the company and is moving to Toronto, where he will become the chief operating officer of JYSK Canada, a Scandinavian-based retailer, and his wife will pursue doctoral studies.

“We thank Pablo for his excellent contribution to Palliser,” Defehr said.
