Newly created exec positions for sales and product development

LENOIR, N.C. — Broyhill Furniture has hired two executives in newly created positions, one in sales and one in product development.

Rebecca Smith has been named specialty accounts manager, handling specialty markets and alternate distribution with products specifically developed for those markets. She reports to Dave Pinamonti, vice president of sales.

Before joining the full-line manufacturer and importer, she spent more than 20 years as a senior account representative for 3M, selling and promoting branded products to fabric mills, furniture manufacturers and retailers.

“Rebecca’s experience is a considerable asset to this important area of our business,” said Pinamonti.

Doran Miller has joined the company as product development manager, reporting to Mike McCollum, senior vice president of bedroom and dining room merchandising. Miller will manage all wood product development projects between outside sourcing and designers and the in-house Broyhill design and merchandising team.

Most recently, he was a key account manager for Panaway Corp., a Taiwanese company with offices in Greensboro, N.C., where he sourced product for a number of manufacturers and retailers. Earlier, he was with China-based Techniwood Inds., developing product for national specialty retailers and department stores.

“Doran brings a strong sourcing background to our team, and his experience with overseas operations is a great advantage,” said McCollum.
