MEBANE, N.C. — Kingsdown has hired Robert Jelinek, a former executive at Polk City Directories and Procter & Gamble, to the newly created position of vice president of sales for North America.

He reports to Pat Flippin, president and chief operating officer of the bedding manufacturer.

Jelinek most recently was president of Polk City Directories, a provider of information references to small and midsized businesses. Earlier, he held a variety of management and product leadership roles for 18 years at Procter & Gamble, including work in China.

“Rob brings a wealth of experiences and capabilities to Kingsdown,” said Eric Hinshaw, chairman and CEO. “We are rapidly growing and becoming global both as an organization and a brand, and we need experienced people like Rob to help propel our company.”
