HCM CITY — A two-in-one international exhibition opening today in HCM City will present the best offerings of wood processing and furniture making industries.

Exhibits at the Vietnam-wood 2016 and Funitech 2016 will include machines and technologies for wood processing and furniture making, timber drying kilns, and other tools and materials used in the industry like plywood, wood composites and different kinds of coating.

The products will be displayed at more than 450 stalls at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in District 7 by about 250 companies from the United States, Germany, Italy, France, Finland, Spain, mainland China, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, apart from the host country, Viet Nam.

The event has been sponsored by the EUMABOIS (European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers), German Engineering Federation (VDMA), American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC), Italian Woodworking Machinery and Tool Manufacturers Association (ACIMALL), among others.

The US, mainland China, Italy, Spain and Taiwan will have pavilions of their own.

According to the organ-isers, the Vietnam Exhibition and Advertising Co (VINEXAD), and two Hong Kong partners, Yorkers Trade and Marketing AServices and Paper Communication Exhibition Services, the combined expo will present a valuable venue for manufacturers, industrial parks and traders to contact each other and access advanced technologies.

The organising board for the event will allocate meeting areas for companies to discuss business matters with potential partners, as well as for exhibitors to hold technical seminars.

It is expected that at least 16,000 people will visit the combined expo that will remain open until September 27. — VNS
