IFSA to be housed at NHFA offices in High Point

HIGH POINT — The International Furniture Suppliers Assn. has been folded into the National Home Furnishings Assn. as the Suppliers Division of NHFA.

The Suppliers Assn.’s board affirmed the move at a meeting during the April market here. The IFSA is now based at NHFA headquarters in High Point.

Mike Pierce, NHFA director of communications and public relations, will take on added responsibilities as executive director of IFSA. Phyllis Tuttle, who was IFSA’s executive director, left the association at the end of March.

“Although the relationship is still in its infancy, the enthusiasm and support we are getting from both the suppliers membership and the retail membership has been phenomenal,” said IFSA President David Kuluva of Kansas City, Kan.-based Mittelman Furniture. “This affiliation will certainly help the IFSA continue to understand the needs throughout the entire furniture industry.”
