New program offers custom-order for quick-ship

BASSETT, Va. — Bassett Furniture Inds. has enhanced its Bassett Design Center gallery program to include a wider array of custom-order bedroom, dining room and living room furniture that is available on a quick-ship basis.

In most cases, the new program offers several best-selling designs in each category from the company’s Simply Yours collection, which allows consumers to choose from popular styles and finishes at affordable price points.

“This gives anyone the ability to customize their furniture,” said Liz Ferrell, director of the Design Center program. “And they can get it shipped in about 30 days.”

In casual dining, for example, consumers can choose from nine table and leg styles, 13 finishes and nine chair styles, while bedroom furniture buyers from choose from six popular bed designs and five finishes.

Ferrell said the program is aimed at traditional furniture stores in markets that don’t have a Bassett Furniture Direct store.

“We don’t want to give up on the areas that can’t support a store,” she said.

Ferrell said the program was well received at last month’s High Point market, where more than 20 dealers signed up. Most of the new galleries will be 6,000 square feet to 8,000 square feet, but they can be as large as 12,000 square feet.
