Another Triad furniture company is closing its doors.
Claude Gable Co. Inc., cited domestic costs and overseas competition Tuesday in announcing the move. About 195 employees will lose their jobs.

It’s the city’s largest-single job loss in three years, according to WXII 12’s news gathering partner, the High Point Enterprise.

The company has been in business for 34 years. The facility is located on Fraley Road in south High Point.

“… The management and owners have fought to keep the business going and to help keep our employees in their livelihood,” Claude Gable officials said in a statement released to the Enterprise. “Unfortunately, we are no longer able to do so.”

Many of the layoffs are effective immediately, according to company officials.
