GUILFORD, N.Y. Police are waiting to collect the evidence in the case of a furniture delivery man who gulped down a diamond ring.
One official with the Chenango County Sheriff’s Department says they’ll get the ring — in his words — “when nature takes its course.”
The waiting game began after 35-year-old Michael Kuchinski of Binghamton admitted he swallowed the ring — worth about one-thousand dollars — after he saw it on a bedroom dresser yesterday afternoon.
Sheriff’s deputies took the man to the hospital in Norwich, where doctors used an X-ray to determine he wouldn’t be harmed as a result of ingesting the ring. Kuchinski then was admitted to the hospital after he said he felt ill.
Kuchinski was charged with larceny and criminal tampering — for delaying the recovery of the ring.
