Malaysian Furniture Company To Open More Showrooms In India

BANGALORE, June 11 (Bernama) — A Malaysian furniture maker plans to open two more showrooms in India this year in view of the overwhelming response for its products.

Datuk Hamzah Zainuddin, chairman the Flexioffice Group, said that besides the

showroom opened by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak yesterday, Flexoffice Sdn Bhd planned to open showrooms in Mumbai and Chennai to display its work-stations.

The company also planned to open an assembly centre in India, after the one in Dubai in 2003, he said.

He said Flexoffice, the first Malaysian manufacturer of office furniture in India, had received overwhelming response for its work-stations from the multinationals, especially those in Bangalore, the operations centre of foreign companies.

“For June alone, three months after Flexoffice opened its showroom, we have received bookings worth a total of RM18 million. We do the designing ourselves based on the needs of customers and produce quality work-stations, which accounts for the good response,” he told Malaysian journalists here.

The company targeted at least US$20 million in annual revenue in India for the next three years, Hamzah said, adding that other furniture companies from Malaysia should invest here in view of the huge potential.
