Three years ago, Continental Office Environments in Columbus sold its Indianapolis operation to that store’s management.
This week the company bought it back. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
President Ira Sharfin, who joined Continental last year and became a principal in February, said the Monday acquisition is part of his growth plan for the office furniture supplier. Sharfin is opening stores in cities where Continental can be the exclusive dealer for Herman Miller Inc.
Continental Office is also the Herman Miller (NASDAQ:MLHR) dealer in Columbus, Pittsburgh, Toledo and Erie, Pa.
Continental Office is owned by Sharfin, Jack Lucks and Frank Kass. Business First ranks Continental Office Environments as the largest office furniture and supply company in Greater Columbus, with 287 full-time employees as of Dec. 31.
