SAKI has embraced its use of natural materials by expanding from buffalo horn to Indonesian wood. This new collection creates a luxurious look and feel to SAKI eyewear. This natural wood material gives a rich appearance created by fine Japanese artisans. SAKI’s exotic wood collection is oven-dried and seasoned for two to three years. Teak/wood eyewear creates a durable, easy to maintain, and great looking product. SAKI’s Indonesian Teak Collection brings nature into our luxury eyewear in a useful and practical way.
Teak is a very hard, closely grained wood that is extremely high in natural oils and specially treated wood that won’t absorb dirt or skin oils. These properties help maintain the wood’s endurance. If properly maintained, teak will not warp, rot, split, or crack. For many years, teak will not show signs of aging and will withstand the elements with grace.
In Indonesia, there are teak plantations strictly managed by the government to harvest this wood for the sole purpose of manufacturing. In no way does the use of this wood interfere or damage Indonesia’s rain forest. In fact, the only teak products the environmental groups Rainforest Alliance and Friends of the Earth certify are those from Indonesia.
SAKI’s new Indonesian Wood collection is tops for quality, luxury and ecological reasons. It’s luxurious, yet hardy wood texture is combined with metal for adjustability to create the unmistakable beauty of this high-end eyewear.
